F.A.M.E.

female artists managing expectations

F.A.M.E. is a R&D that explores the format of the platform technique and investigates new forms within it, combining them with a contemporary performance language.

In a humorous way, the world of show business with its obstacles and injustices, especially for young actors* and artists, is examined from a feminist perspective.

The play tells the epic story of a young woman from the province who travels to the “big city” to live her dreams and become a successful and famous actress. However, her adventure in the city is more like an obstacle course than a Hollywood movie, and she must face all sorts of trials, rivals, and most importantly, her own fears to make this chimera a reality.

Four performers on stage bring this “young promise” to life, as do all the other characters who appear in this crazy adventure. The performers thus act as a kind of chorus that unfolds and presents different social roles and archetypes from the world of show business.

In a small format and under the guise of “physical comedy”, this piece is a critique of the ruthless and competitive process of trying to find one’s place in the arts, and of a world that, although masquerading as progressive and avant-garde, hides an unjust and cruel treatment of its inhabitants, especially women.
